The video production pipeline

The pipeline a new Video Production workspace starts with. Pre-Production, Production and Post-Production are deal stages, so each video a client orders moves on its own. Rename, reorder or extend any of it.

  1. Inquiry

    A New Inquiry status with sub-statuses for website form, direct email, social media, referral, inbound call and agency partner enquiries, then contacting, not reachable, requirement gathering (brief received, discovery call done), or lost with a reason such as budget or timeline.

  2. Pitch & Proposal

    Drafting the proposal (costing, creative treatment, client assets), proposal submitted (feedback, negotiation, re-pitch), then project awarded (contract signed, advance received) or rejected on price or creative direction.

  3. Pre-Production

    Each video is its own deal: script and storyboard, casting, locations, crew and equipment booking, on hold for approvals, then ready to shoot once the call sheet goes out.

  4. Production

    Shoot days, B-roll and voiceover, delays for weather, crew or equipment, reshoots, then shoot wrapped with footage backed up and handed to post.

  5. Post-Production

    Offline edit and client revision rounds, online edit (colour, VFX, sound, music licensing), on hold for feedback or assets, then final cut approved and masters rendered.

  6. Delivery & Closure

    Handover of files, invoicing and payment follow-up, then project completed once the final payment is in.
