Graduate route extensions fell 39% to 157,356. A Graduate visa lasts 2 years for applications made on or before 31 December 2026 and 18 months from 1 January 2027, or 3 years after a doctorate.

Sponsors must record agent details on the CAS whenever an agent or third party recruited the student, even for a one-off recruitment without a formal contract. Every sponsor that uses recruitment agents must commit to the key principles of the UK Agent Quality Framework and retain evidence of how it manages agents under the AQF and the national code of ethical practice for UK education agents. The May 2025 immigration white paper said institutions cannot simply outsource their responsibility to make sure the students they sponsor are genuinely coming to study.
